How to not get a job.

My mom, when I graduated college, told me that whatever I do, the first job I landed I should keep for 2 years. The assumption, or at least mine, was that you looked like a stable adult when you kept a job that long. Now I've been a full-fledged member of the work force for 8 years and have yet to keep a job for more than 18 months. And in that time, I've probably sent out close to 200 resumes and gotten a half-dozen interviews. I know the economy sucks, but the lesson here is: Listen to your mother.

I always figured by the time I hit 30 I would have some idea of what I was going to do with my life. I've got about 6 months to figure that out. Not likely. Nor necessary, I imagine.
